Kolbrun together with the seaweed company Ocean Rainforest based in the beautiful bay you see in the picture above, will in the nearest future develope the NORA funded project TaraTekstil (Seaweed-Textile). The goal of the 12 month project is to study the feasibility of “Blue Fashion” using seaweed cultivated and harvested in the North Atlantic and process it into seaweed fibres, that can be used in knitted and woven fabric. This is very exciting and we can't wait to show you the result in our designs.

Above you see a dress made from organic cotton and 20% seaweed textile made in the BFC Challenge in august 2017.

After the competition Kolbrun and Ocean Rainforest had the idea to make a 100% biodegradable textile with seaweed and less water footprint then organic cotton and we sincerely hope we succeed.
